Hat Making Workshops

Join Hat Maker Jessi Lloyd for a hands on hat making experience. Handcraft your very own fur felt or straw hat. Workshop options and pricing is listed below.

Mini Workshops:

These mini workshops are wonderful for an afternoon or evening with friends, using your hands, creating a custom rabbit fur felt hat or a straw hat. These workshops run 3-4 hours long. I will provide you a rabbit fur felt hat that is partially completed or a straw hat, leaving you with all the fun finishing touches. For Fur felts you will cut your brim, then use steam to shape your hat. You then have the option to light your hat on fire to destress it and last but not least, create your outer hat band. For straw hats you will soak your hat, shape your crown and create your hat band. Workshops need to be booked 2 weeks in advance. Max of 4 people per workshop. If you would like to accommodate a larger group please email Jessi to coordinate plans or to see if your group size is possible. These workshops can also be done individually. Private Complete Fur Felt Hat Making Workshops:

During the complete hat making workshop you will be hands on in every step of the hat making process. You will hand pull your beaver fur or Nutria fur felt over your wooden hat block, sand, steam and shape your hat, then set it with fire. You will then sew in your leather sweatband by hand, and create your outer hat band. These workshops run 8-10 hours and are broken up into 2 days. You will leave with one completed hat. All Workshops run from 9am-2pm.

Not looking for a team building event, but still looking for a group workshop to host in your business. We can customize a workshop to fit your needs! This is a wonderful fit for wineries, breweries or any business wanting to host a creative event.

Traveling workshops are available with a traveling fee.
